To all the people who let the sunshine into their lives.

There is life after a period of darkness.

Depression is overwhelming. It’s scary and insidious. Some take months and some spend years struggling to overcome the pain, fear, and loneliness. Everything and everyone seems unfair and unjust. Accepting your changed life requires extra efforts and getting back to normal takes a lot of strength.

Amidst the darkness, we all can spot the speck of light; that constantly appears to add a little hope. We know it’s there but to grab it & illuminate our lives is the real challenge. We are skeptical. We are scared to take that leap, wondering what if recovery is only a myth.

To get hold of that ray of light that is just around the corner requires courage and willpower.

Merely asking someone suffering from depression, to reach out and get hold of their lives is a joke in itself. Who doesn’t want to get out of that darkness? It’s the struggle to free ones’ soul from the clutches of depression that makes everything difficult and for some, near to impossible. Willpower plays an important role here.

It’s the hunger to breathe again and get better, that pulls you out from the deep dark hole. The inner strength to embrace life like a newborn and letting yourself have a second chance is essential.

Believing that we still have people in our lives, who are praying for our well being, every second and every day adds up to our willpower. We need to breathe for their smile; for that love, for our families, for that promising future.

I respect and appreciate the efforts of every person who has fought the battle and has come out victorious. You dared to tear the dark clouds apart to let the rays of hope make way into your life. You did not let the darkness suppress your natural shine that was scared to come out. I can see your soul lighten up. Now, you are brave enough to fight any battle and humanity is proud of you.

No fear, no darkness can block your journey towards your destination. You have another chance to live to the fullest and find what brings you peace.

If you are reading this; I’ll pray that you have a wonderful life.

(P.S: And I’m glad I could become someone’s sunshine.)
